I have been fascinated with the past all my life. Although time travel is not possible (at least, as far as I know), we can still experience it through what I call "relics of the fourth dimension." Namely, as the old saying goes, "time marches on." We can't travel in the fourth dimension, except going forward in the present, but we can follow the trail of the fourth dimension. Along the way, people lose or discard items from their being. These relics are unintentional time capsules that give us as glimpse into their lives. Here on The Time Searchers blog, I will show some relics of the past that I have run across in our present. Sometimes when I am out on a relic hunt with the Colonial Relic Hunter, we know that we are not alone. There is more than just relics at these historical sites. Indeed, it could be said that there is a portal to the past, perhaps to another dimension, where that which once was, still is. A place where the real consorts with the shadows; the present fuses with the past, on Time Searchers: Ghost Relics.

PEARL HARBOR-75TH ANNIVERSARY-RENDEZVOUS WITH YESTERDAY


I CAN HARDLY BELIEVE THAT IT HAS BEEN 75 YEARS SINCE THE JAPANESE ATTACK AGAINST PEARL HARBOR.  MY DAD USED TO TELL ME STORIES ABOUT THE PUBLIC'S REACTION HERE IN THE UNITED STATES TO THIS UNPROVOKED ATTACK.  PEOPLE WERE SCARED AND ANGRY AT THE SAME TIME.  THE RECRUITING STATIONS WERE SWAMPED WITH MEN WANTING TO GET EVEN AND FIGHT FOR THE UNITED STATES. I DON'T THINK THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES WERE EVER MORE UNITED THAN THEY WERE IN WORLD WAR TWO.  ITS TOO BAD WE DON'T SEE THIS TYPE OF UNITY TODAY.
I PUT A PICTURE OF THE B-17 BOMBER "PATTY ANN" UP SINCE ONE OF THE MOST INTRIGUING WHAT IF STORIES IS THAT THE RADAR OPERATORS AT PEARL HARBOR HAD ACTUALLY DETECTING THE INCOMING JAPANESE PLANES AND REPORTED IT TO A FIRST LT.  WHO TOLD THE OPERATORS TO IGNORE IT SINCE THE DETECTED AIRPLANES WERE MOST LIKELY A FLIGHT OF B-17 BOMBERS THAT WERE DUE IN TO PEARL HARBOR FROM THE MAINLAND THAT VERY DAY.
SADLY, THIS OFFICER IN AN INTERVIEW YEARS LATER STILL STUCK TO HIS EXCUSE NOT TO ALERT THE ISLAND OR AT LEAST TRY TO CONTACT THE AIRPLANES BY RADIO OR OTHERWISE CONFIRM THAT THESE AIRCRAFT WERE ACTUALLY THE B-17'S.
IF THIS WARNING HAD BEEN HEEDED AND THE ISLAND FORCES PUT ON ALERT, IT COULD HAVE SAVED A LOT OF LIVES AND CHANGED HISTORY.  BUT, LIKE ANYTHING IN LIFE, IT IS EASY TO SPECULATE WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF THINGS HAD BEEN DONE DIFFERENTLY. REGARDLESS OF THE OUTCOME,  THE UNITED STATES INVOLVEMENT IN WORLD WAR TWO AS A COMBATANT HAD BEGUN.  A THREAD OF HISTORY THAT CHANGED THE FLOW OF TIME UP TO THE PRESENT.-THE TIME SEARCHER.
