I have been fascinated with the past all my life. Although time travel is not possible (at least, as far as I know), we can still experience it through what I call "relics of the fourth dimension." Namely, as the old saying goes, "time marches on." We can't travel in the fourth dimension, except going forward in the present, but we can follow the trail of the fourth dimension. Along the way, people lose or discard items from their being. These relics are unintentional time capsules that give us as glimpse into their lives. Here on The Time Searchers blog, I will show some relics of the past that I have run across in our present. Sometimes when I am out on a relic hunt with the Colonial Relic Hunter, we know that we are not alone. There is more than just relics at these historical sites. Indeed, it could be said that there is a portal to the past, perhaps to another dimension, where that which once was, still is. A place where the real consorts with the shadows; the present fuses with the past, on Time Searchers: Ghost Relics.

METAL DETECTING 1970'S STYLE-COMPASS DEALER STICKER SIGN-METAL DETECTING THE WAY IT USED TO BE.

Here's a unused Compass Metal Detector Dealer Sticker Sign from the 1970's from the Time Searcher Archive.  Back in the day, before the mass internet/mail order dealers, you had the local dealer.  He was usually a local guy who sold people dreams.  At least to me he did.  As a kid I visited all the local dealers that I could talk  my Mother or Dad into taking me to see and we traveled to other areas to see and talk with these guys.  These dealers would tell great metal detecting stories and made you excited to get out there and hunt.  Most of these type of guys are gone now and instead of being the kid wet behind the ears in metal detecting, I find that I am the old timer now.  I miss the old days. This sticker is for the compass brand of detectors that were popular in the 1970's and 1980's.  Compass Electronics went out of business in the early 1990's and I was told someone had bought the assets and was producing machines under that name. I have never seen any for sale,  The metal detector depicted in the sign looks to be the "Judge" model that gained some notoriety in the 1970's in relic hunting.-The Time Searcher
