IT WAS WITH GREAT SURPRISE THAT I HEARD ABOUT CARRIE FISHER'S PASSING. SADLY, HER MOTHER, THE ACTRESS, DEBBIE REYNOLDS WAS SO UPSET THAT SHE HAD A STROKE AND PASSED AWAY. A TRULY CLOSE FAMILY BOND THAT SHOWS IN A TRAGIC WAY THAT FAMILY IS TRULY THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN LIFE BEYOND MONEY AND POSSESSIONS.
WHAT SOME PEOPLE MAY NOT KNOW IS THAT DEBBIE REYNOLDS WAS A TRUE RELIC COLLECTOR. WHILE MYSELF AND THE COLONIAL RELIC HUNTER HUNT AND COLLECT COLONIAL AND OTHER RELICS. DEBBIE REYNOLDS HUNTED AND COLLECTED MOVIE WARDROBE AND PROP ITEMS: RELICS OF HOLLYWOOD. IN FACT, SHE BOUGHT ALOT OF ITEMS WHEN MGM STUDIOS WAS BOUGHT OUT BY KIRK KEKORIAN WHO BASICALLY SOLD EVERYTHING OFF INCLUDING THE HUGE MGM WARDROBE AND PROP COLLECTIONS. IN 1970 MGM HAD A HUGE AUCTION OF THESE ITEMS. DEBBIE REYNOLDS BOUGHT ALOT OF ITEMS AND TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO DISPLAY THEM IN A MUSEUM. THESE EFFORTS WERE NOT SUCCESSFUL AND IN 2011 SHE AUCTIONED OFF MOST OF HER COLLECTION.
SHE DID NOT COLLECT TO MAKE MONEY. SHE COLLECTED BECAUSE SHE LOVED THE HISTORY REPRESENTED BY THESE ITEMS. A TRUE COLLECTOR. A VERY NICE LADY WHO IF YOU MET HER WOULD TALK TO YOU AND NOT BE A HOLLYWOOD PHONEY. A GREAT TALENT AND COLLECTOR THAT WE WILL ALL MISS.-THE TIME SEARCHER.
