As anybody who has followed the Time Searchers can tell you, we like films. Especially ones that deal with a historical topic. Here, we have the Paramount Pictures film, the Unconquered starring Gary Cooper and Pualette Goddard. The appeal of this film is that it is set in Western Pennsylvania. In the mid to late 1700's, western Pennsylvania was the Wild West of North America. The Unconquered gives a glimpse (a hollywood one) into the indentured servant system the British had along with the Military and Political situation in the North America at the time. The fun thing about these films is that we can imagine what it must have been like in those times and how we would fit into that era. In the film, I can imagine the Colonial Relic Hunter standing next to Gary Cooper's character fighting off the henchmen of the villain of the film (Martin Garth, played by Howard Da Silva) while I offered my protection to Abby Hale (Paulette Goddard). Yes, I know, Colonial Relic Hunter, I do usually leave the heavy lifting to you. Anyway, the film brings the colonial era alive and it is great viewing even if it is not completely historically accurate.-The Time Searcher. Here's a link to the film:
I have been fascinated with the past all my life. Although time travel is not possible (at least, as far as I know), we can still experience it through what I call "relics of the fourth dimension." Namely, as the old saying goes, "time marches on." We can't travel in the fourth dimension, except going forward in the present, but we can follow the trail of the fourth dimension. Along the way, people lose or discard items from their being. These relics are unintentional time capsules that give us as glimpse into their lives. Here on The Time Searchers blog, I will show some relics of the past that I have run across in our present. Sometimes when I am out on a relic hunt with the Colonial Relic Hunter, we know that we are not alone. There is more than just relics at these historical sites. Indeed, it could be said that there is a portal to the past, perhaps to another dimension, where that which once was, still is. A place where the real consorts with the shadows; the present fuses with the past, on Time Searchers: Ghost Relics.

COLONIAL CHRISTIAN CROSS FOUND-LOST COLONIAL VILLAGE
The Colonial Relic Hunter found this unique and rare colonial era Christian Cross that was worn around the neck of a long gone colonist. This was our first trip back to the Lost Colonial Village for 2016 and it was a great start for the New Year. The Colonial Relic Hunter found this Cross along with a 1808 Spanish Two Reale silver coin (super deep find), numerous buttons,, two colonial coppers coins, and a silver plated military button. I found a 1770's British Artillery button and some other colonial buttons. I will post photos and videos of our hunt finds in the next few days.-The Time Searcher.

A TRIP TO THE DRUG STORE-CIRCA 1945
HERE'S A PHOTO THAT SHOWS HOW THE SHOPPING EXPERIENCE WAS IN THE MID 1940'S AMERICA. I LIKE HOW EVERYONE IS DRESSED UP. NO SLOBS IN BLUE JEANS AND T-SHIRTS HERE TO PICK UP A CARTON OF CIGARETTES, A CASE OF BEER AND LOTTERY TICKETS. PEOPLE TOOK PRIDE IN THEIR APPEARANCE AND DRESSED UP TO LOOK PRESENTABLE IN THEIR DAILY LIVES. THE DRUG STORE EMPLOYEES ARE DRESSED IN WHITE JACKETS AND TIES, THE TWO DELIVERY MEN ARE UNIFORMED. EVEN THE SMALL CHILD IN THE PHOTO IS WELL DRESSED. I ESPECIALLY LIKE THE GUY IN THE THREE PIECE SUIT AND BOWLER HAT, WHICH WAS GETTING UNCOMMON IN THE US EVEN IN 1945.
I LOVE THESE OLD STORE PHOTOS THAT SHOW ITEMS I SEE WHEN I LOOK FOR ANTIQUES. I CAN SEE HOW THE ITEMS WERE DISPLAYED BACK IN THE DAY. A TRUE LOOK BACK IN TIME.-THE TIME SEARCHER
